Hi, I’m Issy, and I solo run Iggy Studios —a creative hub with multiple facets. At Iggy Studios, we specialize in handmade gifts such as memory boxes and personalized artwork. We also capture special moments with our photography and create original artwork designed to brighten up any space.
In addition, I host workshops that bring people together with a focus on accessibility and fun. These workshops are central to my business, as they encourage creativity and build community in an inclusive setting.
Another important aspect of my work is my involvement in CSA (Child Sexual Abuse) creative activism. Although I’m new to this field, I find it deeply empowering and rewarding.
I’m fortunate to collaborate with some amazing people and companies who share my values, which makes my journey with Iggy Studios even more meaningful.
My background is in support work, where I help young adults with learning disabilities lead happy and fulfilling lives. In this role, I observed firsthand how important art—whether it’s music, visual arts, or movement—was for them. I also saw how art could often be inaccessible due to complex instructions, unmet sensory needs, or rigid expectations of what art should be. This experience highlighted the need for more inclusive and accessible art opportunities.
That’s why I began offering accessible workshops designed to provide comfort, security, and enjoyable activities. My focus is on creating experiences that participants can take home and cherish, valuing the journey of creativity rather than just the final product.
Additionally, I have a background in photography. I completed an A-Level in photography with distinction, and I continue to practice and refine my skills to this day. Although I didn’t pursue art at a degree level, I’ve gained extensive knowledge from other talented artists and developed my own style through ongoing practice and learning.
My values center on accessibility, creativity, empowerment, compassion, and supporting survivors of child sexual abuse (CSA) and domestic violence. I am deeply committed to preventing CSA and providing support to those who have experienced it. My work and personal mission are driven by a desire to create inclusive, creative spaces where individuals can find empowerment and healing.
Our values are deeply embedded in our everyday work. They guide everything we do—from the projects we take on, to the collaborators we choose, and the communities we engage with. We prioritize working with partners who align with our mission and share our commitment to inclusivity, creativity, and advocacy. Each decision we make is rooted in these principles, ensuring that our work remains authentic, impactful, and driven by a desire for positive change.
Accessibility is one of our core values, driven by the lack of accessibility we observe in many areas of life. We understand that accessibility takes many forms—whether it's sensory needs, emotional accessibility, or physical access to activities. This could mean providing floor-based seating, supporting participants in getting to and attending events, or creating an environment where people feel safe to express their emotions.
We recognize that everyone has different access needs, and we carefully consider these in every workshop we deliver. Our spaces are designed to be flexible, allowing participants to explore and communicate their access needs as they evolve. We also recognize that accessibility is an ongoing learning process, and we strive to adapt and grow in this area every day.
This commitment is deeply rooted in who we work with, how we collaborate, and how we support those who attend our events and workshops.
Creativity is deeply rooted in everything we do. For me, being creative has been a transformative tool throughout my life’s journey, and I love seeing how it can help others in similar ways. Creativity isn’t about following a set path or achieving the "perfect" piece; it’s about the process. Everyone sees and interprets art differently, and through this exploration, we often uncover new narratives and perspectives we never imagined.
This approach to creativity is empowering, allowing people to express themselves freely and find their own unique voice through art.
Empowerment is at the heart of everything we do. It’s a core value that we strive to achieve in every workshop and through every piece of art we create. Empowerment can be as simple as giving someone the motivation to get out of bed on the day of our workshops, or as profound as encouraging people to share their stories, knowing that we’re here to listen with open hearts.
We aim to empower people to preserve memories and cherish moments they may have overlooked, and to find the courage to speak up when it matters. Empowerment comes in many forms, and we embrace every aspect of it, helping individuals recognize their own strength and voice.
While we don’t offer therapeutic support for CSA (child sexual abuse) or DV (domestic violence) in a clinical sense, our focus is on enhancing wellbeing through creative practices that can be therapeutic. We provide a space where survivors can feel safe and empowered, with the freedom to step away whenever they need to, and the flexibility to create and adapt as they see fit. Our environment allows individuals to assert their boundaries, expressing themselves in ways that suit their needs.
In addition to our creative work, I engage with police, MPs, and various courses to educate and advocate on supporting survivors and preventing CSA. Our spaces are designed to be safe and supportive in any way that each individual requires, reflecting our commitment to helping survivors navigate their journeys with dignity and respect.
