Collaborations

As a freelancer, I've had the opportunity to collaborate with some incredible organizations such as Imara and Impaced. These places resonate deeply with my values, and I truly enjoy working with them. The alignment in our principles makes the work not only fulfilling but also a pleasure, allowing us to achieve remarkable outcomes together.

The Work We Do

My values center on accessibility, creativity, empowerment, compassion, and supporting survivors of CSA (child sexual abuse) and domestic violence. I am also dedicated to helping prevent CSA. Each organization I work with shares at least one of these core values.

Collaborating with organizations like Imara, Impaced, and the Viv Gordon Company has been incredibly fulfilling because of our shared commitment to these important principles. Their missions align with my dedication to making a positive impact through creative and social activism, and I am proud to contribute to their efforts in fostering a more inclusive, supportive, and compassionate community.

IMPACD

I have worked on multiple projects, including the IMPACD "Freedom to Explore" project, which was based on dance, music, and visual arts. This project aimed to bring people together, and I served as a project support worker, assisting participants with activities and providing emotional support.

Additionally, I led a series of six workshops where we created wings for the Nottingham Caribbean Carnival, which were then showcased in the Pride parade. My role also involved producing social media posts to promote the incredible work being done.

Moreover, I have participated in the "Short Breaks" initiative, a respite program for children with additional needs, catering to a range of requirements from low to high support levels. These experiences have allowed me to contribute meaningfully to various creative and supportive endeavours, aligning with my core values of accessibility, creativity, empowerment, and compassion.

Imara

I have worked with Imara for over four years, contributing to notable projects with various external organizations. My involvement includes:

  • magining Resistance Project by Sussex University: Participated in this project, which focuses on creative and resistant responses to adversity.
  • ONS Surveys: Provided input on accessibility for survivors, ensuring their needs and experiences are adequately addressed.
  • Nottingham Youth Charter: Offered opinions on how to engage people effectively and delivered training sessions to empower youth.
  • Meetings with Police : Engaged in discussions on how to prevent child sexual abuse (CSA), sharing insights and strategies to improve prevention measures.
  • 2022 Sea Glass Art Auction: Raised funds for Imara through this art auction, supporting their mission and services.
  • nterviewing for Imara’s Services: Conducted interviews to gather survivor options and feedback, helping to enhance the support provided by Imara.

These experiences have allowed me to make meaningful contributions to various projects and initiatives, furthering my commitment to accessibility, empowerment, and support for survivors.

In addition to my other contributions, I have also hosted creative and sensory well-being workshops for Imara. These workshops aimed to raise money and awareness for the organization while promoting overall well-being through creative and sensory activities.

Moreover, I have supported Pride events this  raising awareness about Imara's mission and the importance of addressing child sexual abuse (CSA). My involvement in these activities reflects my commitment to combining creative engagement with advocacy to support survivors and foster a more informed and compassionate community.
